I saw an instruction guide for one of these instruments in a thrift shop today and was wondering what it was called. Then I come across this video in the hopper.

Actually, Korea, Japan, and China all have a variation on this instrument. This is the Gayageum, the Korean version, which is different than the other two, as it is played with bare fingertips, not a pick or fake nails.
I've heard Buckwheat Zydeco cover "Hey Joe", and now this. There is something about Hendrix that shouldn't translate well, yet does. If I can hear a German oompah band cover "Purple Haze", I'll die a happy man.
