Tebow is not a good quarterback.

He actually deserves a lot of credit, because he's getting it done with his very limited skill set. He's got balls and inspires loyalty and tries as hard as he can. He's got the intangibles.

He just doesn't have the tangibles.

He is absolutely painful to watch. I think the throwing motion of my usually-drunk rec league team quarterback is more fundamentally sound.

I dunno, I thought he played pretty well in their upset of the Steelers. There's no denying he made some pretty clutch plays in that game.

Hey I find his whole "I Kick Ass For The Lord" shtick as annoying as the next person, but credit where it's due.

Corpus Delectable
Oh, he has the "tangibles" that matter. He plays actual football, not football in some second-rate Christian league. He's an actual quarterback, the actual position that vapid pop culture idolizes above all other sports positions, not the other kind that other Christian celebrities are. He has actual good looks that aren't of the he's-almost-good-looking-but-we-have-to-run-with-it-because-other- Christians-are-even-uglier variety. He even wins games once in a while, which gives him actual sports hero status, as well as actual persecuted-Christian-because-the-World-will-not-recognize-his-geni us status.

This guy is a youth pastor's wet dream. He's the One Who Comes Closest To Getting Me To Believe In The 2012 Apocalypse Crap.

And I'm a grouchy atheist.

I can see why the guy appeals with his underdog persona. What i find really silly here is the whole "OMG! HE BELIEVES THE SAME STUFF I DO!" thing going around behind him. This victim complex belief that xtians are like a species in extinction in the USA is utterly stupid.

Call me crazy but I think Tebow is actually a pretty good quarterback, just wet behind the ears.

The problem I think people have with him is threefold: 1) He's not a prototypical drop-back passer like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady; 2) He's a polarizing figure due to his religious beliefs; 3) As a college legend and a unique personality he's constantly under the microscope--he's constantly under a massive amount of scrutiny and the more wins he participates in the greater that media obsession with him will get.

Among all the experts he's an anomaly, some kind of terrible apparition that screams in the face of all the basic (and absurdly conservative) tenets of professional football: that being the drop-back passing type quarterbacks are the ones that win championships. But because he has a strange throwing motion, that he is a southpaw, that he weighs almost 240 and can manhandle a linebacker, and has some rather terrible throws he stands as anathema to a lot of former quarterbacks turned analysts who HATE HIM because of the fact that he can still win games (with the help of the rest of the Denver Broncos, of course).

To say he lacks tangibles is also kind of silly, too. He can throw the deep ball, he can hurl a nice rainbow or an icy rope; he can move in the pocket and outside to extend plays--it's just that he does not do so consistently, and is an inexperienced quarterback who has only started in 15 games.

Just give him time.

Funny how Tebow pushed this whole religion thing as hard as he could to make a media issue JUST in time for his biography release.

Funny timing that, you sack of shit.

If you are going to make money from the stupid, might as well do it hard and fast.

Billy the Poet
If you think you hate him now, wait until he's bounced from the league next year and spends the rest of his life as a minister, using their unjustified sense of persecution to fleece born-again Christians.

Toenails
I can't wait for that and call dibs on the videos!

Football sucks.

Only if you are in every country but America.
