A christian documentary about the evils of indoctrination...

*head explodes*

BroodMother - 2012-01-15

You can leave your kids alone with me, the priest, but never leave them alone with a teacher!

Cena_mark - 2012-01-15

You can't tell the difference between evangelicals and Catholics. Very very different cultures. This is an evangelical film, not a Catholic film.

Randroid - 2012-01-15

Look. just use the standard suspense music, fonts, raster effects and mix the old zealots with a housewife or something - all excited to be listened to. Put on some old newsreels and mix in some bible quotes... yeah... yeah... no they have to be at a "different" angle when they read them. And there has to be someone listening, looking serious. Something about school shootings and "socialists"... gays and moral relativism. Folksy bits of wisdom. In black and white. BLACK AND WHITE. No, look, i've been doing this for 20 years and don't you tell me how to whore myself

Two simultaneous thoughts in action;
1) "Christians are the American mainstream"
2) "the majority of America are enemies to Christians"

How...?

GQ - 2012-01-15

Well, most of them aren't the right TYPE of Christian

IrishWhiskey - 2012-01-15

The majority of America aren't REAL Americans.

Konversekid - 2012-01-15

It's just like Bill O'Reilly gloating about how Fox news receives far greater ratings than "the mainstream news corporations."

It's just a brilliant way to be both popular and thus acceptable, as well as the underdog.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2012-01-22

Didn't you get the memo? Most of them are pretending!

themilkshark - 2012-01-15

Getting shot by classmates is NOTHING compared to the horror of schools teaching evolution!

IrishWhiskey - 2012-01-15

Good think no one ever gets shot in private schools and churches!

Oh, wait...

Xenocide - 2012-01-15

"They are stealing our children. But because they are leaving the body of the child, we don't know it's happening."

Wasn't that a Roger Corman movie?

Corpus Delectable - 2012-01-15

"Turning your children over to total strangers and having those strangers work on your child's mind; It's a mad idea!"

Bring 'em to church, instead! Oh, wait.

Ultimately, I'm not sure I have a problem with a voluntarily uneducated underclass, which is where this is headed. A pliable class of menial laborers would probably even be good for the economy, not to mention the military.

Udderdude - 2012-01-15

Counterpoint: They can still vote.

When I became an atheist, my parents started home-schooling my younger siblings in order to prevent a similar fate for them. Little did they know that it wasn't public school that caused my loss of faith, but the evangelical mission that I had been on.

Redford - 2012-01-15

So, at 0:55. They are teaching these children, that there is nothing right or wrong with being gay or lesbian. They are teaching these children that they in all things have a choice. I never considered how the fundamentalist view drills "Heaven versus Hell" so hard into people that they eventually lose the capability to see any shades of grey whatsoever. I am enlightened, perhaps.

Also these people don't seem to understand what a 100% fundamentalist worldview would do for the country as a whole. Differing educations and ideologies are important for creating a varied working class capable of completing any task our species sees fit to attempt. Moderation, in all things.

IrishWhiskey - 2012-01-15

I bet that the kid had asked whether any answer they wrote (possibly totally unrelated to the gay thing) would be considered right or wrong, and the teacher said no, just put what you want.

This is edited to make it sound like the kid is asking whether there is such a thing as right or wrong, and the teacher is affirming that little Johnny can go kill, rape and worship Satan all he wants.

TeenerTot - 2012-01-15

So send your kids to parochial school.

Duh.

pastorofmuppets - 2012-01-15

No, that's why I'm atheist.

TeenerTot - 2012-01-16

Me too.
Works out for everybody.

Vaidency - 2012-01-15

"88% of Christian children deny their faith by graduation day."

Wow, I didn't realize we'd made so much progress toward finally wiping out bronze-age superstition. Now I am feeling more optimistic about our society.

Meerkat - 2012-01-15

The preload that cried "Douche".

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-01-16

EDUMACATION AIN'T NEVER BEEN GOOD FOR NOBODY.

Adham Nu'man - 2013-03-18

TRYIN TO FIX PUBLIC EDUCATION IS LIKE TRYIN TO TEACH A PIG HOW TO DANCE!

poopy - 2013-03-18

I love this pig dance analogy and the sincerity with which he describes it. "YA GIT DERTY AND THE PIG GITS MAD!"
