Caminante Nocturno
This game has a prodigiously dick move in it, where one of the pits in the last level warps you all the way back to the start of the game if you fall into it.

That's the sort of thing you could never get away with doing today.

And also why I hate games these days.
Games used to kick you in the balls and laugh at you.
Now you need a fucking tutorial level to tell you how to open a door or jump. JJ & Jeff rules.

Riskbreaker
But if games were difficult these days you couldn't progress and watch the next deep cutscene from the super complex story! Like, Kratos banging a bunch of chicks and yelling at someone.

Regarding the corner segment, I'd recommend downloading the Super Monkey Daibouken ROM and giving it a try. I have it myself, and it's... it's something else.

It's actually WORSE than Command & Conquer 4, if you can believe that.
Caminante Nocturno
Command & Conquer 4 was heartbreaking for me.

Riskbreaker
Even in Takeshi's Challenge you can at least go around punching people, but in Super Monkey Daibouken nothing happens, ever.

Redford
So basically it's like adventure island, except with slightly more variegated mechanics and farting. Why didn't we get stuff like this instead of Milon's Secret Castle?
Void 71
We got a sanitized version of it. I haven't played it in 21 years, but I remember liking it a little more than Bonk's Adventure.

spikestoyiu
I had this (the US version, at least) AND Milion's Secret Castle. What do I win?

Riskbreaker
You guys should be glad we didn't got Quest of Ki.

EvilHomer
One of my friends had the JJ & Jeff port, and it was awesome. I think it may have been a little easier than the Japanese version, but I still never made it past the first two levels.

Riskbreaker
Just like Adventure Island, every single boss battle is the exact same thing.

I searched for the comedy routines of the two guys on youtube, and yes, what you see in the game is more or less what they used to do.
Jet Bin Fever
Now THAT'S comedy!
