Anytime a Busey is involved you know you're in for a treat.

I wonder if anyone at Asylum ever comes up with even a halfway original script and is then promptly fired?
I mean, as shit as their rip-offs are, I can't see them making any less money from shit that isn't a rip off; some people will rent/buy just about anything they haven't seen before, and it's not like SyFy won't buy the rights for their movie blocks nobody (in their right mind) watches.

Kabbage - 2012-05-14 My sister-in-law's mother legitimately likes Asylum movies. BATTLE FOR LOS ANGELES was up there with Avatar in her book. I think if you're old enough, you don't really notice how shitty the CG looks and you can follow the plot better than anything resembling the source material.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-05-14 Huh. And I thought the plot to Avatar was overly simplistic to begin with. Maybe it's a generational thing.
That said, a friend of mine used to work at a video store. He had regulars that would pretty much come in and ask to rent whatever they hadn't seen yet, regardless of quality. I'm trying to imagine what that does to the mind being asked to absorb that kind of stuff.

"You have no idea how deep that shaft is."
I know a certain number of ladies that DO.

Just like the Nazis to figure out plasma weapons.

There is a part of me that likes the direction of this movie better than Iron Sky. I actually prefer it when movies are overly self-serious with a stupid plot rather than the obvious wink-wink haha of Iron Sky.

There are esoterics who actually believe something similar to this, but with dinosaur people. I'd like to think that Asylum's done their research here.

Josef Mengele is dead. They should have just made up a fictional Nazi name, because now I can't take their movie seriously.

What will Asylum do when video rental stores are gone and consumers will no longer distractedly pick up the Asylum rip-off while assuring their crying kid on the phone that daddy's bringing home that giant robot movie they wanted?
|
Unmerciful Crushing Force - 2012-05-15 I don't know what they will do, but I know that we all lose just a little bit of joy in our lives.
