In the late eighties, long after the series disappeared from Saturday mornings, they chopped up the episode into ten-minute cartoons, mixed them with some other clunkers and threw them all together into a syndicated show that ran in afternoons on UHF stations.
The awesome part is the show had a live action host dressed as Plastic Man. wore a flesh-tone body stocking stuffed with fake muscles under his red & yellow Plastic Man unitard. He wore the enormous sunglasses and either wore a wig or endured massive amounts of hair gel. He would introduce & close the show and appear in between the cartoons doing various zany things.
Once, the tape had been poorly edited. Instead of the screen fading to black when Plas introduced the next segment, he stood frozen for a moment smiling into the camera. Then a muffled voice said "cut" and the actor fell out of character with a rock-hard thud.
I mean, you could almost literally see the poor guy's soul being crushed. Everything about his facial expression and posture let you know he just wanted to wrap it up, change out of the costume, collect his pay then take a nice hot shower with a steel wool loofah to try and scrub away the shame.
