I have a boring, tangentially related story! I spent a few summers at a camp run by Duke University (TIP, no idea if it's still a thing), and in my third year, one of the guys in my class was the Aspiest Aspie who ever lived, a nationally ranked chess player, and obsessed with Benito Mussolini. I hate it when people play psychiatrist like that. Why not just say "he's crazy!", or "what an idiot!". But I guess that's the way it is now, we consult the DSM for better insults.
Umm... "He's a high-functioning autistic" is much more specific than "He's crazy" or "he's an idiot". It tells you a lot more. You're complaining that people are being more specific?
