Trivia: the two-headed gorilla is an example of early Rick Baker work.

In 1980, when I was 22, my girlfriend and I watched this on WVIA, Scranton, which at the time was one of the best public TV stations anywhere. It showed Dr. Who episodes all the way back in the early to mid 70s when NO ONE had heard of the doctor stateside. We thought it was the best B movie we'd ever seen, a brilliant satire on race and class in America. Of course, we were high off our asses.

I submitted this right away. I still haven't had a chance to watch it, so that's all I can tell you.

Holy shit WVIA used to be awesome when I was growing up (it may still be, I don't have cable.) Aside from showing the original Star Trek it also introduced me to awesome garbage like Night of the Lepus and Food of the Gods on their terrible Cool Ghoul ripoff late saturday night show

But anyways about this clip. I always wondered how Rosey Grier would have reacted if Ray got an accidental boner during the shoulder scenes. Would he have been flattered? Angry? Disappointed in the lack of focus in his fellow actor?

If you watch only one scene (though you should watch the whole thing) watch the dirt bike scene starting at 1 hour in.

The Mothership - 2012-07-28

what, no blaxploitation tag?

A significant film, if only because without it there would never have been an Incredible Bongo Band, and the world of music would never have been graced with "Apache."

A lot of historical weight rests on Ray Milland/Rosy Grier's abnormally broad shoulders.

Hollywood can't remake this one....or can they?

Oscar Wildcat - 2012-07-28

It would involve Will Smith, and be Terrible.

But yes, hat's off to Mr. Motherfucker for finding this gem on the 'tube. This was a staple of midnight TV viewing in my youth.
