Uh oh the thought police are out...lets disregard the fact that this movie was made in the 1940s, lets disregard poor Dumbo being victismed and bullied becuase he's different, lets instead focus on the colour of some guys' skin becuase, as we all know, that is the main focus of the whole movie >_>

Yeah thought police! Pay attention to the movie! Who cares if black people work all day and night, never learning to read or write, it's not there if you ignore it, and if you ignore it it isn't bad!

This was filmed during the 1941 animator's strike, and Disney refused to halt production, and thus hired a lot of untrained amateurs to come in and work on it. That's why it has so many silhouette scenes, which was considered unique to this specific production. The amateur animators were thrilled to be invited in, and most were crushed with the strike ended and they were told to get packing. Disney was too paranoid and weird at the time to even trust his strike breakers.
