This happens all the time. It happened at the record store where I worked, it happened at the thrift store where I worked, and a friend of mine who worked at the TJ Max in downtown Boston said it happened at least once a week in the women's changing rooms.

This happened at my first couple of jobs, the worst of which had to be a restaurant at Sesame Place in PA. Some kid took a shit in the middle of the restaurant and management did their best to find some underpaid teenager to volunteer to pick it up.

It also happened at my current job, but that's understandable because I work out of a nursing home, though I don't work for the nursing home (LONG STORY). A resident's colostomy bag busted and he leaked shit everywhere as he nonchalantly walked around the building. The smell was so awful and it was spread so far and wide that they had to replace the carpets in the entire building.
