If any of these people believed it was actually killing a child they'd be demanding free access to contraception. They'd be trying to ban fertility treatments that kill hundreds of babies per person per session. They'd make it a criminal offense to pretend to be a doctor and tell people not to use condoms or birth control like the crisis pregnancy centers do.

You can't send an aborted fetus to a desert country to commit murder for your hate god while you rape children back at home. You can't have your hate and rape it too without assistance.

Hay Belly - 2012-11-02

If only there was some way to ease his pain of deciding what to order pregnant women to do.

Cherry Pop Culture - 2012-11-02

I love it when guys say they don't believe a woman should have access to birth control or abortion. It simply reinforces my choice of never dating them.

Don't worry, most of them are closet-homos anyway.

Cherry Pop Culture - 2012-11-02

I thought that was just an urban legend? I wouldn't be surprised you're right.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-11-02

At this point, the GOP platform needs a "Rape is not that bad" plank.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-11-02

They have to be careful lest they give the impression that sex is something in any way pleasurable or something that women shouldn't somehow be punished for having.

Maybe a "God decided you were asking for it" plank?

(I can't top the above comments, but)

Kosterian Argument Against Abortion:

Premise: They go out
[fragment, unsatisfactorily understood, or false start]

Premise: American incest/non-incest ratio is very low
[Koster apparently intended that the ratio was so low as to be negligible in any practicable moral system]

Premise: There exists a woman who:
-was raped
-became pregnant
-chose to deliver
-believes abortion should be illegal
-is known by John Koster

Premise: abortion is an act of violence on a woman

Premise: a fetus is a type of innocent child

Premise: Crime entails consequences
(it is unclear whether Kosterianism intends 'consequence' as merely causal, or both causally and morally)

Conclusion:
Even at best, abortion has no utility in ameliorating or countervailing rape, and has negative utility per se.

Apparent corollary: In a trolley-problem scenario where only a pregnant mother or the fetus in question can be saved [but not both] , there is no utility in the government choosing which to save, as it is a situation of equipoise.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-11-02

Anytime a Republican male politician begins a sentence with "I know a woman...", just wait for it.

Innocent Bystander - 2012-11-03

Is Rape Thing similar to Swamp Thing?

Gojira1000 - 2012-11-03

Of course not. Swamp Thing was DC, Rape Thing was Image. Durrr.

yogarfield - 2015-07-08
