How were these guys stuck on MadTV for so long? It's like finding Guy Savoy working as a McDonalds cashier.

They do have some real potential, their MADTV years notwithstanding. Just fair warning, they do kinda fall back on that shit quite a bit. The "shot in the dick" sketch comes to mind.

Right now their biggest problem is that they don't know how and when to end a sketch. A lot of their sketched could be half as long and would be better for it.

That's hardly something to solely blame Key & Peele on. Even Monty Python and the Kids in the Hall had some sketches suffer from that.
