I hate this irrelevant man-child.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-12-23 He may be a man-child, and he's certainly eccentric, but you're living in fantasyland if you think he's irrelevant. If not for Stallman, there would be no Google. Believe it. You and I are communicating through software he made possible. Steve Jobs didn't invent consumerism. Stallman invented Open source. He doesn't think it goes far enough, but he invented it.
He recently appeared on the Alex Jones show. That's crazy, but it's less crazy than being a Nazi sympathizer. I'd rather hang out with him than Thomas Edison or Henry Ford.

For context, this was in Brazil. The audience asked him to present in English, then changed their mind and wanted him to switch to Spanish when they were having trouble understanding him (as Spanish is way easier if you speak Portuguese)
I'm not a self-proclaimed computer genius, but I would think one solution would be ask if anyone in the audience would want to translate in English.

I really want to post this on Facebook because at least one person on my friends list (who happens to be an actual friend also) works for him, but I probably shouldn't post it for that very same reason.

"Stallman recommends not owning a mobile phone, as he believes the tracking of cell phones creates harmful privacy issues. Also, Stallman avoids use of a key card to enter the building where his office is. Such a system would track doors entered and times. For personal reasons, he generally does not actively browse the web from his computer; rather, he uses wget and reads the fetched pages from his e-mail mailbox, claiming to limit direct access via browsers to a few sites such as his own or those related to his work with GNU and the FSF."
