during college one fell into a doritos bag that was suspended by computer monitor wires on my desk. It was 4 am on a boston winter and i closed the bag, took it to the driveway, and jumped on it. It felt like popping an underfilled water balloon. Then i felt like a nazi.

In my last year at college I moved into my buddy's shotgun shack in the middle of the Lakeland ghetto. We had a bit of a rodent problem there as well.

One day I opened up my box of Cheereos and found a bloated dead rat in it.

My girlfriend at the time laughingly made a comment about it being the cereal box prize.

I put the dead rat in a ziplock bag and hid the it in her car's glovebox.

I now have a scar above my right eye.

also one time a mouse ran across me under the sheets when i was naked. Also boston. Also I was not good at keeping away rodents. Oh and then once we got mice my roommate put out mouse poison (the most evil compound ever for warm blooded organisms) and it wound up killing my awesome hamster.

It was my Freshman year of college and I was failing Chemistry.

Luckily, I soon realized that my chem professor was a mouse.

One bag of Doritos later, my problems were over.

ahhh xenocide, there are still a few days left but that comment probably made my year. How did you know i failed chemistry?

We used to have a mouse problem at the office, in that mice were getting into the box of Cheerios on Earl's desk. So we put down glue traps and sure enough, a mouse eventually got stuck. Everyone started feeling sympathetic so we went to a lot of trouble freeing it (olive oil and q-tips), and while it was still stuck to the trap, Earl was concerned it was hungry so he fed it Cheerios.

A couple of mice have gotten in to my basement laundry room. One was apparently injured (from falling from the ceiling?) and crawled into a pile of towels to die. That was a fun find. Another seems to have fallen directly into the washing machine. Unfortunately, the machine leaks inside, and the poor bugger drowned. I make sure to keep the lid closed on it now.

My mouse story is a metaphor for American conservatives, the most generous interpretation of them anyway.

It's like conservative relatives of mine, who have done everything they can to back Republicans who are out to gouge schoolteachers, gut unions, kill healthcare, etc. Well those same Republican policies resulted in another relative of mine losing her schoolteacher job and having trouble getting insurance for the medicine she needs to survive, and when the conservative relatives found out about her plight, they got very worried about her and offered to help her out. Didn't change the way they vote, though.
