How do people get professional non-has-been actors to star in fanfilms? Wouldn't it, you know, mar their careers?

On a different note, it is notable that while Jaleel White starred in this, when he was the sole choice of actor for Classic Sonic in Sonic Generations. It was him or nothing. The character is silent. So although he starred in this, Jaleel White and/or his agent probably has the same opinion of recent Sonic games as most of us.

For most actors, a job is a job.

This is surprisingly less terrible than I was expecting.

Cena_mark - 2013-01-12

How'd they manage getting the AVGN?

Aelric - 2013-01-12

The AVGN and the Nostalgia Critic? You really call those non-has been actors?

BiggerJ - 2013-01-12

Aelric: I haven't exactly watched it yet. And it's not exactly as if they ever HAD been in the first place.

Xenagama Warrior Princess - 2013-01-12

I found out that people actually payed for this movie and this is the result of two whole years of work.

duck&cover - 2013-01-12

You know, I heard Jaleel White turned down the lead in "Django Unchained" to do this instead.

The former Urkel is very much in demand.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-01-12

At a guess, I'd say this is done in a similar way to how Uwe Boll films get actors you've heard of to be in his latest video game catastrophe films: You just hit up the actors' agents with a pitch along the lines of "here's the title, we only need your guy/gal for about five minutes, and here's what we pay."

If there's no pay involved, I'm betting they hit up the "if we get noticed and a studio wants to throw money at us to make a real movie, you're first in line for the call" angle.

BiggerJ - 2013-01-13

What about the actors who aren't Internet Celebrities, has-beens or name actors, if there are any in this? I'd like to find out what they think.

Old_Zircon - 2013-01-11

I've got to hand it to them, casting Tony Clifton as Robotnik was inspired.

Old_Zircon - 2013-01-11

But I still want my last 20 minutes back.

BHWW - 2013-01-12

Ha ha, now I can't unsee that.

gmol - 2013-01-12

This is the same guy that did the megaman film. I couldn't much of it...but it is a fair bit of work. Good for him.

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-01-12

You know, now that you mention it, I can definitely see that this was done by the same guy.

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-01-12

Every time I see or hear Kintobor, all I can think of is Gonterman.

Nikon - 2013-01-12

Same here. It'd be interesting to see Davey Kins Foxfire in one of these, complete with his artificial arm that has a permanent connection to the internet.

White Trash Party - 2013-01-12

The best things going for it are: it's not as horrible as you think it would be and it apparently pisses off sonic fans on youtube because it's not cannon or something.

Kabbage - 2013-01-12

Godd, I love that the Sonic fans would find something asinine to complain about.

Watching this, I kept thinking that maybe if you were just diehard into Sonic, you could overlook the awkwardness and the fact that Sonic literally sounds like me making fun of Sonic. APPARENTLY NOT.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-01-12

Many of these stars are for placing this in the Short Film sub-category of Religious.

Even if it's not meant to be a joke, it's still the most fitting label.

Mother_Puncher - 2013-01-12

Thankfully not the "predictable results" I was expecting

Nikon - 2013-01-12

I wouldn't pay money to see this, and the cgi seemed to lack mass in some shots, but this wasn't too bad for a fan film.

Nikon - 2013-01-12

Episode II: Return to CWCVille
