you can see Leno squirming

MurgatroidMendelbaum - 2013-02-19

My family never truly has recovered from the economic hardships of 1865.

misterbuns - 2013-02-19

You can hear the audience remembering what comedy is.

takewithfood - 2013-02-19

Stars.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2013-02-19

Louis has been telling this exact joke for a few years now. I love him to death, but he is really phoning it in here.

Aelric - 2013-02-19

To be fair, his new material wouldn't be allowed on Leno at all. BUT! I agree with you in general. Third season of Louie was pretty ho hum (not awful, just not nearly as good as the first two) and his most recent standup has been a little underwhelming.

I still love Louis too, MacGuyver

Old_Zircon - 2013-02-19

He told a joke?

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2013-02-19

Season three sucked, bro. It wasn't "Okay". It just plain sucked.

baleen - 2013-02-19

He's "phoning it in" on the fucking Jay Leno show.
He's spilling his coffee at the office. Big fucking deal.

Chocolate Jesus - 2013-02-19

Season three was the best season.

Maru - 2013-02-19

How is this old material? Are you seeing him at Caroline's every week?

joelkazoo - 2013-02-19

I agree with CJ.

Maru - 2013-02-19

And, yes, season 3 was the best season. It's inexplicable how you could come away from that thinking it was inferior.

James Woods - 2013-02-20

Louis seasons 1-3 are incredible.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-02-19

I'm just glad he dodged that weak attempt to change the subject. Leno is so afraid to have anything remotely interesting happen on his show.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-02-19

I dunno. So much of just about every talk show is scripted (in that the comedians have their routines ready to go for "answers" to the host's questions) and the questions are written in advance. Maybe Louie went a little long, but the topic itself was likely no surprise.

Hooker - 2013-02-19

Oh, he's just doing stuff from his stand-up here. This is not the least bit impromptu.

themilkshark - 2013-02-19

I'm white, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing white people made uncomfortable by their own racist thoughts. These jokes aren't offensive if you aren't actually a racist white.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-02-19

His time travel bit is one of my favorites.

chairsforcheap - 2013-02-19

we have a table right here for you, sir!

CornOnTheCabre - 2013-02-19

hey look, it's someone trying to convince the internet they aren't racist by making blanket statements about racists that they don't immediately qualify for

everyone make a wish (i wished for less racism)

memedumpster - 2013-02-19

"Don't tell the band that!"

Oh my fucking god.

snothouse - 2013-02-19

HAVE MY BAND WHIPPED

wackyakmed - 2013-02-19

Jay Leno seems like one of those people who thinks he would have had an easier time in life if he had been born a minority.

Xenocide - 2013-02-19

"Just think, if I were black LIKE MY BAND, I might have one hundred and twelve cars instead of one hundred and eight cars. Being white sucks."

Gmork - 2013-02-20

I actually remember a time when I thought Jay Leno was funny.

I believe it was about thirty seconds, many years ago when there was a newspaper skit that included a bit about a cat muzzle (with picture).

So I guess it's really more about the cat muzzle.

Syd Midnight - 2013-02-23

I remember him on Letterman in the 80s doing a funny joke about women farting. So yeah, that was really more about fart jokes.
