It is very trying. I didn't like it. Any plotless movie based on the aimless existence of aging Williamsburg hipsters is bound to bore/piss off the audience.

Tim's body, however, is an incredible piece of atrophied flesh. It hangs down beautifully in all the strangest ways.

It's a good movie, but like Avalanche says, it's trying. Basically it's a very masterfully made 'fuck you' to hipsters that parodies cynical, self-aware, "ironic" culture shit to such an extreme level that it shows how painfully retarded it is to live your life this way, though I doubt a lot of people will interpret the film this way. Present day hipster types probably find this movie absolutely horrific because it paints a very accurate portrait of how their social circle will turn out once they start heading into their mid-to-late 30s. Heidecker's character is maybe an extra dose of awful and not terribly realistic, but the movie as a whole is terrifyingly accurate when you've known people like this.

It's what I would have wanted a movie adaptation of "Less than Zero" to be. Basically kid in a candy store called "existence." I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon :)

Just got done watching it. I really, really liked it. Stan's assessment was perfect, and I can say "At least I'm not THAT guy!".
