God damn I hate the "your tax dollars at work" every time some minor expense is brought up. It paints a picture of the gross expectations at work; the government should be five times more efficient with a fifth of funding.
My understanding of the numbers is that this represents 5 seconds of military spending in Afghanistan. It was done to replace in house trainings, and their savings estimate is almost 5 minutes of Afghanistan.
For some reason, I am put to mind of the old idea that the way to survive a plane crash is to wait until the plane is feet from the ground, then jump up. The plane crashes, then you land on your feet. Right?
