Nice.

Is this the movie that also had the breathing walls? If it is, this is the one that traumatized my childhood.
The Mothership
yes, the walls breathe in this movie, and are scary.

Fun fact: Claude Coates wanted the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland to be more like this movie. Marc Davis wanted the Haunted Mansion to be more like Charles Addams drawings. The two bickered about it for the better part of a decade until they decided to split the difference and Coates took the first half of the attraction and Davis took the second half. The dividing line is the Ballroom sequence.

Coates' half has a fairly straight homage to this very sequence, if you look closely enough at the wallpaper in the hallway leading to the seance. It is creepy faces. There's also a door that bends and bloats like the wall in this movie.

There was also Harper Goff's notion of the "netherworld", which appears briefly in the Doom Buggy loading zone. His idea was to be more like a Twilight Zone episode.

Yes, my comment on "The Haunting" is transmuted into a recitation of my sperglord obsession with the Haunted Mansion.

Neat! And I learned something.

Every wall I looked at in the dark was a breathing wall for over a decade after I saw this movie.

Jet Bin Fever
Sadly, the title of this clip reminded me that there was a remake.

Needs more Owen Wilson. Or Luke Wilson. This scene needs a Wilson.

BUT THEN WHO WAS HAND!

Wow, the restraint shown in making that one design element look vaguely like a face is amazing. These days it would be an over the top, grotesque and idiotic grimace.
