This is amazing, and I'm not raging against capitalism here or anything, but can we please call a spade a spade? This is not the world's smallest movie. This is the worlds smallest commercial.

memedumpster - 2013-05-02 Name one movie that is not an advertisement for the people who made the movie.
TheOtherCapnS - 2013-05-02 Then we should call all movies commercials.
No wait, we can use a more robust set of criteria and say that the things that spend a good third of the length of themselves either talking about the company or displaying said companies logo are commercials.
It's a great commercial, but doing something amazing to promote your company (not microscopes, durr hurr) doesn't make it not a commercial.
memedumpster - 2013-05-02 Yes, let's use your made up criteria, and if it doesn't work, just make up some different criteria!
Thanks for reinforcing in me my belief that this site hates everything that is cool and science related. Just one star it in the hopper next time and spare me your fucking bitching.
memedumpster - 2013-05-02 Sorry, meant "vote down in the hopper next time," jargon mixup.
Bort - 2013-05-02 If it makes you feel better, memedumpster, I thought it was really cool that I could see a carbon atom and an oxygen atom next to each other in each "pixel" of the display. Which got me wondering how one carbon and one oxygen can bond (four unfilled valences vs. two unfilled valences), which got me doing Lewis structures for the first time in decades.
I don't imagine I'm the only one who is spurred by these videos to neglect work and research sciency stuff after seeing some new scientific advance. So, thanks! And by the way, it's a triple-bond.
Bort - 2013-05-02 Though I have to say, as cartoons go this is ass.
TheOtherCapnS - 2013-05-02 Wow. I five star it, call it amazing, then great, then amazing again. But apparently that is science-and-cool-hating bitching, because I take issue with the way they (not you, by the way) and every news outlet that has reported on this have titled it.
TheOtherCapnS - 2013-05-02 (not to mention the fact that the last video I submitted was a cool science video that memedumpster himself fav'd)
That guy - 2013-05-02 CapnS have you seen the Bioshock thread right now? Apparently it's Jump-All-Over-Each-Other-For-Nothing week.
TheOtherCapnS - 2013-05-02 Well said, That guy. On that note, Ima just lurk for a while.

If you feed the atom a root beer jelly bean does it turn into a rocket?

Also, I have no sense of joy, because even though I am (again) amazed by this, and am in fact a fucking scientist, I pointed out that this is a motherfucking commercial which is a different thing from a fucking movie.

That guy - 2013-05-02 I haven't taken physics in a while.
From there can you solve for the torque of the pork?
What about estimating the speed of the seed?
chumbucket - 2013-05-02 They made movie which got used as an ad.
William Topaz McGonagall - 2013-05-03 You can solve for the speed of the seed, but you can't find the VELOCITY of the seed unless you know the direction of the erection.
