I'm bothered when people pass off local fox news stories as the cable news network. Especially when the story was from before The cable news channel even existed.
The cable news network has only existed for a little over a decade, but I can easily see where the confusion would come in here. It's the same fearmongering style of reporting, just without a 24/7 window to create an exit wound with the point and yell at/threaten to cut the mics of anyone who has a differing opinion.
The local stuff still ties into the network. It was a so-called "local" story that resulted in the parent company basically suing for the right to lie when broadcasting the "news."
If that reporter had interviewed kid me for this segment, I would've told her that I played Mortal Kombat for the story and then given an obnoxiously detailed recitation of the plot and various character motivations.
