The best thing about these videos are all the angry yt comments "OMG DON'T DO IT NOOOOO!"

I have a Vita-Mix, which is the granddaddy of hardcore commercial grade blenders sold to home kitchens. The thing can boil soup if left at top speed for five minutes. I'm bragging. About my blender. Because owning a Fuck You Grade blender is exactly as fun as the videos make it look.

I want a back-up container for blending the seriously inedible, but I think I would cry if I did manage to hurt the motor. No. I know I would cry.

I drive right past the Vitamix headquarters on the way to work. I bet you think I'm cool NOW.

I've got an old, 60s commercial grade Waring that was used in a lab to break up small rocks years ago and still works well. And yess, it's very satisfying to have a good blender.

Tell me about good blenders: how do they make your life better? What am I missing out on by not having a blender at all? Er, out on what am I missing?

memedumpster - 2013-10-06

Bort, home made fruit smoothies alone are worth the cost of a blender. There are also various ice cream based things made better by blenders.

We're talking 0 of blender at a minimum, though; that would have to be a life-threateningly bitchin' smoothie.

Hey, on the Blendtec site they've got a blender called the Tom Dickson Extreme!

I have owned 4 blenders. the first was a cheapo during college and I do not remember it. The second was a model that broke within 6 months. the third was another model that broke within a year. the fourth is a Kitchen Aid from the 80s that cost from the Goodwill. It has one setting, and at this setting it will liquify a whole chicken thigh, bone and all, in under a minute I shit you not.

Update: I eventually went with a 0 Ninja blender. It chops ice into snow, it makes smoothies, and I'm sure it does other useful things too.

For me the Ninja is the proper price point: less than 0 and you don't get the functionality (such as being able to chop a frozen strawberry into a paste), but a Blendtec or Vitamix is probably overkill and four times the price.

Mmm. Toxic.

gravelstudios - 2013-10-05

My current blender, I have to pick it up and shake it while it's blending to make it work. I really want a good blender.

This Chocolate Jesus guy is a bad egg.

The Mothership - 2013-10-10

M-DEEM - 2013-10-05

Is that an actual blade? It looks like an improvised "wreck shit" bar. Fine either way

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-10-08
