I'm getting the biggest vibe that this is going to turn into one massive dragged out kickstarter vaporware project. The list of features they want to cram in seems crazy unrealistic for a crowdsourced game.

The gameplay footage from what I can see thus far, and from Chris Robert's own posts, he took a "legit" physics model and then proceeded to hamstring it so that there's a more or less 1 to 1 forward to lateral inertia ratio. No justification except that "it looks cooler" which I completely object to.

If you were an avid fan of independence war, you will feel my disappointment. As he basically admits to going to all this effort to create an "accurate" physics model only to automagically alter it so the game plays like xwing vs tie fighter or freespace.
