Baleen, I don't think hypnosis really works like that. All but the most suspect things I've read about it are pretty much in agreement that posthypnotic suggestions wear off pretty quickly and aren't much use for getting people to do things they would be unwilling to do otherwise.

Cult indoctrination is a bit different since it involves being physically cut of from contact with anyone outside the cult, total control of your environment, not just listening to mp3s of a goth woman whispering about having sex with elves or something.

I'm not saying that there isn't some truth to what you said so much as that it's hyperbolic to call it "downright evil."

On the continuum of "evil" marketing practices, I'd put it a bit below advertisements on the subway, personally.

I'm not into the hypnodommes or the male hypnosis masters, but the worship, slavery, humiliation and financial domination is just mutual roleplay, for the most part.
