That's an awesome set up. Those Linns are hard to get.

yeah they are, but I'd rather have the PPG.
Actually I'd even take the JD-800 over the Linn, just because I've always wanted one.

Yeah, linndrums are sweet (the drummer in my last band's roommate had one!) but I'd take the PPG in a second. I can get close enough to the sound (if not the feel) of the Linndrum on my mpc2kxl. I've sold of every digital drum machine I had left in the past few years since I got good at using it. And it's a hell of a lot cheaper.

I lucked out on the initial priceso I'm only about 0 into it over about 6 years and it has the output expansion, the effects board, a CF reader, full ram, a perfect screen, and brand new pads, triggers and control fader, with the SMPTE chip on the way; even if I'd paid the fair market price for the unit itself It'd be under 0, which is less than I could get selling it now. Not that I ever would. It's pretty much the only nonexpendable electronic instrument I have.

I've never heard anything that makes PPG sounds anywhere near as well as the original, though.

I love this shit. I wish I had this kind of stuff as the soundtrack for every little dumb thing I do during the day.
