To the best of my knowledge, the MC Kids were never used in traditional advertising, or if they were, it was only in a very limited capacity. If you're going to compare the BK Kids Club to anyone, it would have to be Ronald McDonald and his McDonaldland crew; Grimace, Birdy, the Fryguys, Mayor McCheese and so forth.

Whether the BKKC were cooler than the McDonladland lineup is a complex and somewhat counter-intuitive question. In brief, I'd say that, yes, the BK Kids were "cooler" than their bitter rivals, but that this coolness was actually detrimental. The BK Kids were part of that early-90s "Mascots with Attitude" fad that produced so many insufferably hip douchebags, characters like Sonic the Hedgehog, Chester Cheetah, and Rocky Rodent. The BKKC were too fresh, too in-your-face; too cool for their own good.

In short, they were the Poochies of the fast food world.

Kid Vid was pretty awesome, though.
