Using the comments of random morons on Twitter as filler is probably number one on my very long list of things cable news shows need to stop doing immediately.

bac - 2014-03-22

I understand them stirring a nonexistent pot to get people riled up for ratings. It's fucked up but I get it. random internet comments?

My point is I couldn't agree with you more.

ashtar. - 2014-03-23

They should be using poetv comments. Why is the mainstream media sweeping the Earmite Hypothesis under the rug?

Comeuppance - 2014-03-22

"A small black hole would suck in our entire universe"

Old_Zircon - 2014-03-22

This.

baleen - 2014-03-22

Dear lord.

oddeye - 2014-03-22

To be fair, she seems to be discrediting the thinking of that kind of mentalist. Furthermore she isn't an astrophysicist.

SolRo - 2014-03-22

may have also mixed up solar system with universe while trying to suppress urge to call him an idiot.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-03-22

Still not as dumb as Fox saying we found Noah's Ark.

Hooker - 2014-03-22

Yes.

takewithfood - 2014-03-22

It's either that or it flew off the edge of the Earth, right?

BHWW - 2014-03-22

Obviously the Deros arranged for it to be snatched to their domain within the Hollow Earth.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-03-22

I think those people were raptured. Occam's razor, right?

William Topaz McGonagall - 2014-03-22

No, the reason all these insane theories are valid is because you can't bring razors on a plane. Checkmate, atheists.

EvilHomer - 2014-03-22

Dude. I just had, like, the freakiest thought.

What if the plane DIDN'T disappear? What if it's right where it should be... and WE'RE the ones who disappeared?!?!

EvilHomer - 2014-03-22

Oh my God, maybe we're all inside a black hole RIGHT NOW, and the plane's out there looking for US!!! Quick, call the news dudes, we gotta tell everyone man, gotta tell everyone before it's too late!!!

oddeye - 2014-03-22

Are we even sure the plane existed in the first place?

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-03-23

Isn't that kind of the plot of Stephen King's "The Langoliers?"

Koda Maja - 2014-03-22

It was obviously eaten by Langoliers.

RedRust - 2014-03-23

Wow, I gotta watch that movie!

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-03-23

Balki from Perfect Strangers is a child stabbing lunatic. You should definitely watch it for that.

This whole clip is awesome because they have to explain Lost is just pretend. And then they applaud people for theorizing that reality is like Lost.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-03-23

It's definitely one of those movies that's better both as the book (it's less silly) and as the movie (the monsters are pac-man meatballs).

spikestoyiu - 2014-03-22

"I know it's preposterous, but IS IT PREPOSTEROUS?"

Wait, what?

TheSupafly - 2014-03-22

Yes, maybe a thing that would destroy the entire planet probably caused it. Spot on.

Riskbreaker - 2014-03-22

IF IT WAS ON TV IT COULD BE REAL!

Riskbreaker - 2014-03-22

Also, they are just one step away from asking Giorgio Tsoukalos about this.

EvilHomer - 2014-03-22

They should totally do that. Please, God, let them do that.

Nikon - 2014-03-22

I'm not saying it was aliens*.

* - It was aliens.

SolRo - 2014-03-22

he mentions everything -except- aliens. because that would just be preposterous.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-03-23

I think aliens are copyrighted by the History channel.

SolRo - 2014-03-22

Honestly surprised no one mentioned the 'offer a reward' guy (just in case someone in the middle of the ocean saw something and would come forward)

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-03-23

24 hour news was a terrible idea.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-03-23

Sadly, it was okay when it was just CNN headline news. An analog feed of information is best when its an index, if one is trying to know what's happening worldwide. Its when "shows" and attempts to fill air with talking heads came along that shit went down the toilet really fast.

Ironically, making a 24-hour version of Robocop's "Media Break" is a good idea, in conjunction with in-depth reporting elsewhere.
