"Gimme that old tyme religion."
"No one expects the klanish inquisition!"

SolRo - 2014-04-27

whitest crowd outside of a klan meeting.

ashtar. - 2014-04-27

Palin fails to understand both Christianity and America in the same sentence.

blue vein steel - 2014-04-27

Irrelevant Sophist speaks at the annual Small Dick Convention?

Raggamuffin - 2014-04-27

"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" -Matthew 5:44

Oscar Wildcat - 2014-04-27

That's Agrarian Communist Jesus. The dude she is representing is Supply Side Jesus. Different cat entirely, you see?

OxygenThief - 2014-04-28

What do we want?! EVERYTHING
When do we want it?! STILL

Callamon - 2014-04-28

"No one expects the klanish inquisition!"

We could get a lot of use out of this as a tag.

ashtar. - 2014-04-28

I'm going to steal that, OxygenThief.

Cena_mark - 2014-04-27

That's a huge crowd. A lot of Walmarts must be ghost towns during this event.

SolRo - 2014-04-27

I'd bet there's a measurable dip in gun related injuries and deaths during the couple hours of an NRA convention, and then a huge spike right after.

oddeye - 2014-04-27

Mountains of plastic and sugar left unsold!

Riskbreaker - 2014-04-27

This woman is really desperate for attention.

Oscar Wildcat - 2014-04-27

What the fuck is that thing she is wearing? Marshall Applewhite's Outerwear for Women. Where Heavens Gate is between her shoulders, if you know what I mean!

Cena_mark - 2014-04-27

She'd pass as an extra in the film Logan's Run.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-27

Jesus Christ, did she really say that?

I mean, it's good she's honest about liking torture, unlike the rest of our political caste, who prefer to keep it behind closed doors, but sheesh. Mama Grizzly's sort of a bitch.

oddeye - 2014-04-27

If you torture someone by waterboarding them and it also baptizes them to your religion, shouldn't you really stop torturing them after that?

I don't think she gave that a lot of thought and it irks me.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-27

Maybe she's a Flagellant?

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-04-27

Jesus would totally approve of his most sacred ritual being used for the indescribable pain of another human being.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-04-28

What ROUS said.

yogarfield - 2014-04-27

Pffffsht, she's not even hot.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-27

She used to be hot. She's been getting less and less hot as the years drag on, though. And then she goes and does something like this...

...and totally gets hot again! Eh? Eh?

Homer's been a baaaaad terrorist. He needs baptizing!

kingofthenothing - 2014-04-27

I'd hate fuck her. I'd hate fuck her so hard.

Cena_mark - 2014-04-27

Republicans love to say they're women are hotter, and now they're just desperate. Its funny listening to college Republican types try convincing others that Ann Coulter and Palin are still hot.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-27

I'd still bang Ann. She's definitely lost it when it comes to her physical qualities, but I am not shallow; frumpy crazy bitches are still crazy bitches on the inside, and it's what's on the inside that counts.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-04-27

It would probably be like making love to a female version of the Ice King.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-04-27

Now that you mention it, have you ever seen them in the same place at the same time? Hmmmm.

yogarfield - 2014-04-28

Baptize that face, E-Homie.

StanleyPain - 2014-04-27

And suicide bombings that kill thousands of people is then how they baptize us.

Kind of an ugly cycle that most smart people figured out doesn't work a long, long time ago.

Prickly Pete - 2014-04-27

She must've written "hold for applause" right in her script.

oddeye - 2014-04-27

Doubt it, I never heard her say it even once.

TeenerTot - 2014-04-28

Ha haaa!

Albuquerque Halsey - 2014-04-27

thanks for the KKK, for nigger-killing lawmen feeling their notches, for decent church-going women with their mean, pinched, bitter, evil faces

Oscar Wildcat - 2014-04-27

God yes you can't imagine how many times that sentence goes through my brain in the course of my life.

memedumpster - 2014-04-27

☆☆☆☆☆

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-04-27

Damnit, I should've saved my stars for you.

Caminante Nocturno - 2014-04-27

Do you know what keeps me from being offended by anything she ever says or does? The fact that she'll never be president, and that she had that fact forcefully shoved into her face like a pie made out of horse shit.

Pillager - 2014-04-28

"You won't have Nixon to kick around anymore".

I'll never count her totally out. 'Murica is that stupid.

pyslexic dharmacist - 2014-05-01

I skimmed this comment and thought I'd somehow missed her getting a facefull of horse shit.

The entire contents of my bank account to anyone who can make it happen.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-04-27

I kind of miss the days where she just said stupid things that popped into her mind, rather than stupid things written in advance to promote hatred and to ensnare the stupidest people possible, who are willing to give her money.

The Mothership - 2014-04-27

I know what you mean, this is far too complex an analogy for her to have come up with it all by herself. Although it is a really stupid analogy, so......

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-04-27

Okay, how in the FUCK can you be a Christian and believe in the sanctity of Baptism and then get away with a line like that? It's equating torturing people in horrible, terrifying ways to a very sacred ritual to a lot of the people in the audience... one would assume any way.

Also, she is such a fucking horrible speaker. Years of practice, and she still sounds like someone who would be officiating a county fair.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-04-28

Nobody has adequately explained how the "Prosperity Gospel" manages to keep from being ridiculed, since it goes against half of Jesus' teachings. But hey, cherries are meant to be picked, I guess.

spicediver - 2014-04-28

A horrible speaker she is, but boy is she raking the money in on the speakers circuit. Looks like she got some smart career advice post-2008. Why should she care that her words are moronic bile? WINNING.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-04-28

She's paid to maintain the bubble some folks live in. She's basically part of the tent-show revival circuit, except its for the politically deluded as opposed to the religiously deluded.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-04-28

That's a great point! Sadly, when I think of tent revival shows I think of Elmer Gantry, and she ain't no fucking Elmer Gantry.

Bort - 2014-04-28

Short answer: various flavors of Christianity -- and American right-wing Christianity in particular -- have picked up the trick of picking and choosing what parts of the Bible to emphasize, while ignoring the rest, to justify the worst of behavior. The result is a crazy funhouse mirror image of Jesus's teachings, bearing no real resemblance to the original. I hear that strategy really picked up as American Christians were wrestling with slavery, but it certainly didn't start there; the Pilgrims, for example, were kicked out of England and then Amsterdam for being Calvinist assholes of the worst kind.

This is not to say some of this isn't endemic to all types of Christianity (and really all religions), but the Religious Right in America has done a particularly exemplary job of completely missing the point. And people forget this, but the rise of the Religious Right has everything to do with Bob Jones University wanting to retain tax-exempt status while continuing to practice racial segregation.

The good news is, if Culture Wars are like candy to old white right-wing Christians, they're like poison to young folks, who are turning away from their parents' religion in droves. The incentives just aren't there for young folks, a lot of whom have gay or minority friends.

RikkiTikki - 2014-04-28

ahhh, you guys are the antidote to the filth that Sarah Palin leaves in my mind.

Hooker - 2014-04-28

I'm constantly fascinated by this woman. Is she really this stupid or has she stumbled on to one hell of a gimmick?

SolRo - 2014-04-28

She's stupider than this. This is how stupid she is when she has a writer

badideasinaction - 2014-04-28

Clearly she'd volunteer to be baptized again, no?

Deplorable - 2014-04-28

To use pepper spray, cops and military have to be pepper sprayed themselves. So I think it's fair game that anyone who supports, and especially orders and directs waterboarding, should be mandatorily waterboarded.

pyslexic dharmacist - 2014-05-01

http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=38768

That would require gonads far exceeding the Republican party's size limit.

exy - 2014-04-28

This is bad.
