I'm not familiar with their music, but, if I think real hard, I think I might remember seeing the name "The Gruesomes" on photocopied concert mini-posters on telephone poles in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue (southwest tip of Montreal Island) when I was going to high school (late 1980s/early 1990s).

Like maybe "The Doughboys with special guests The Gruesomes" or something.
