I made it all the way to the end. Of about six of these. They're a fucking scream. One of the things I always used to love about the simpsons is that it's so densely plotted. Basically, you'd go through a standard sitcom's worth of story and you'd still have fifteen minutes left. This makes the simpsons the perfect fodder for this kind of alfred jarry summerization.

This has nothing on Spoderman.

I'd say it's more of a sad, resigned apathy than hatred. The next closest contender for that is South Park. Both stopped being worth watching a long time ago, but I don't think people can imagine a world where either show is no longer on the air.

South Park has been fairly meh over the last several years. Every once in a while they are still capable of delivering the goods though. The Simpsons is more like a sad abomination at this point. It's like a friends old, blind, stinky dog that should have been put down years ago. but they just don't have the common decency to do it.

I've never met anyone who hates the Simpsons, it's just a disappointed sadness, like what you might feel for your cousin who's hopeless addicted to meth and has burned your family one too many times. You love him, but you can not trust him, and you know there's nothing you can do.

I saw bits of last season, and they were actually pretty decent! Not classic Simpsons greatness, of course, but noticeably better than what we've come to expect.

I kind of hate the Simpsons, but just because people still insist on making references to it constantly. The show itself I haven't paid a bit of attention to in almost 20 years and don't have any real opinion about one way or the other now. I liked it when it started, got bored, and the last time I saw it was when they first aired the episode about a gas leak making everyone hallucinate, which pretty much confirmed my suspicions at the time that it had gone completely creatively bankrupt in the 3 or 4 years between then and the previous time I'd watched an episode.

It pretty much lost it when Homer started being a lovable doofus instead of an abusive drunk.

I think they need to show us the Simpsons the way they were meant to be seen, by bringing back THE TRACEY ULLMAN SHOW.

To be honest I'd take the Simpsons over South Park. The topical thing is funny, but if you don't know what Game of Thrones is or what the newest video game system is, the last 3 episodes of the last season aren't funny at all. I could be wrong: I haven't really watched the Simpsons for about 12 years but I still like its fictional world full of things that are uniquely "Springfield." Sure, guests from this reality show up all the time, but only a few times have I seen something that is entirely topical to what's going on this week (I think it was the Superbowl episode? Maybe they've done it more often. Dumb joke and topical but still funny.) The last funny episode of South Park I saw was the Funnybot one with the Dalek.

The only time an American cartoon has done a good plot about J-CCGs was Southpark's Pokemon episode.

As said above, the last couple seasons have picked up a little bit, and it's not hated so much as it's met with resigned apathy and indifference.

In regards to the Simpsons being somewhat watchable, it bears asking why, with so many other great shows on netivision like Bob's Burgers or My Little Pony, one would bother with an at best moderately entertaining show like new Simpsons? And in regards to the hatred, most of us hatred Family Guy, because we're hipsters and because it's legitimately awful, while some of us hate South Park, because the haters are Nanny State loving socialists. It's not really hip to hate on the Simpsons; in fact, it's probably *most hip* to never mention the show in polite society at all.

to my recollection, Catie Wayne has never referenced the Simpsons in all her work. She says Seth McFarland is her celebrity crush, but she's only referenced family guy once.

As a kid she was crazy about Amine, especially something I'd never heard of (I'm old) called InuYasha. Supposedly she got in a fight over InuYasha in middle school that led to her being suspended.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has been consistently great.

Can tell if you're serious. Lots of smart people like it, but all I can see is that it's consistently a cartoon.
