Oh, this one actually made it through? Nice.
The chorus, such as it is, was perminantly etched into my brain. I'd forgotten the rest of the song was spoken word, sorta like cowboy poetry.
I searched for this recently because I was wondering if Bud Luckey ("Ladybugs' Picnic" and Pixar's "Boundin'") was the singer, but it's some guy named Fred Wardenburg. Some info on the guy, who became a family therapist but one with a love of music, here on his jazz scholarship fund page: http://www.earshot.org/Education/wardenburg.html
Anyone remember a similar SESAME STREET horse-based short film that, if I remember correctly, featured a girl taking riding courses at an equestrian school? What I specifically remember about it as a kid was that the background music was, if you listened very closely, essentially the LAVERNE & SHIRLEY theme played on a piano.
