Yeah, I agree. 3-4 star video with 5 star CGI. I love the bit of muscle and bone they included.

5 for the splatter, and five more because it's good to know that doctorlegua is finding work these days.

Caminante Nocturno - 2014-05-22

Millions trapped after coal industry collapses.

e-cigarettes becoming popular after e-sex. :)

The Mothership - 2014-05-22

Fun fact of the day: the guillotine was originally designed as as a more humane form of capital punishment than hanging.

Sanest Man Alive - 2014-05-23

Actually, it was meant to take the guesswork and human error out of beheadings, as well as providing an egalitarian approach to them. Prior to its institution, if you were poor and a heinous criminal, you got your head lopped off with an axe. If you were rich and couldn't get away with your crimes anymore, you got beheaded with a big fancy sword; it was just one more way the haves set themselves apart from have-nots (being that swords were traditionally just more expensive to craft, and axes where always seen as either mere tools, or the weaponry of the lowborn and savages, but I digress). Either way, there was always the gruesome chance that the headsman might not be able to do the job in one swing.

ADDITIONAL FUN FACT: when Guillot first drafted up plans for the murder machine that would bear his name into infamy, it sported a crescent blade like an axe. It was actually Louis XVI, himself something of a machinist, who suggested using a beveled blade instead, to better distribute the force of the drop and slice through the neck cleanly.

Took a while for me to realize the mans terrible complexion was actually blood and brains.

fedex - 2014-05-22

Thank god the machines claws are coated with topical anaesthetic!

Tennessee finally got tired of the European drug company boycott of providing drugs for lethal injection. Their solution? Bringing back the electric chair if they can't find the necessary drugs in time for an execution.

At least the head-ripping off machine would probably be more humane than that option.

cognitivedissonance - 2014-05-22

What Would Caligula Do?

Caminante Nocturno - 2014-05-23

Probably cover the machine in naked people.

memedumpster - 2014-05-22

I would rather be smashed with my fellow sinners.

Sanest Man Alive - 2014-05-23

I didn't know you were such a fan of mardi gras, MD.

Personally, I love the dawning shock in the warden's voice at the end of his soundbyte.

memedumpster - 2014-05-23

I am actually a stupendously friendly and likeable drunk that gets along wonderfully with strangers.

If this were portal of alcoholism you'd all think memedumpster died.

This reminded me of when I first saw one of the BowFlex robot sorters. I immediately thought how its amazing speed would make being disassembled by one while alive and screaming all the more horrible.
