All-star 70's disaster

No! Not the bees!

Also let's find some sort of fifth tag related to Nick Cage.

The 70s and to an extent the 80s were very much the time of "animals run amuck" stories, movies and novels, so many novels. All sorts of creatures were going crazy or mutant in packs or swarms or sometimes smaller numbers back then, the 'follow the leader' at least in the UK was probably James Herbert's "The Rats" and all sorts followed and had a go at it: rats, bats, cats (feral and domestic), dogs, frogs, pigs, scorpions, snakes, crocodiles, alligators, lampreys, pike, jellyfish, locusts, maggots, slugs, worms, spiders, cockroaches, beetles, blowflies, woodlice, preying mantises...and probably earwigs or budgies or something too.

I can't remember if it was this movie or a different killer bee movie, but I remember watching one on TV when I was about nine years, so it would have been around 1978 or 1979.

The only scene I can recall, because it was so utterly horrifying to me as a child, had a guy in a white hazmat suit going into a little general store/gas station that was full of killer bees. I remember the guy scraping a layer of bees off a bag of Cheetos and finding the store clerk dead behind the counter with bees crawling all over him.

Then a random group of people dressed as pirates for a costume party came into the store. I think they were supposed to be slightly drunk or something. Anyway, the random guy had a real metal pirate cutlass as part of his costume and when the bees attacked, he started slashing at the air and cut open the hazmat dude's suit and killer bees started swarming into the suit, filling up the clear faceplate.

I wasn't expecting THAT good of a cast. I thought Michael Caine would be it, but holy shit.
