I'm surprised this isn't here already! This sketch is by far my favorite thing from Mr.Show, too bad it's not the full thing. The commentary track for this is really funny too.

The skit was partially inspired by this "brilliant" piece of work by the Beach Boys.

I don't know, that song kind of kicks ass.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-06-08

It does for about two minutes, and then it beats dead horse.

I'm sure on the commentary track, one of them mentioned the insane Brian Wilson song about Johnny Carson.

I think it's a toss up for me between "Busy Doing Nothing" and "Smart Girls." He raps on "Smart Girls." Sure it's up here somewhere, but here's the link. Make it more than a minute and collect your prize.

It's funny that Wilson gets shit for writing "lazy" songs about getting a glass of water or directions to his own house, when he and Dennis also crafted some of the greatest songs of the 20th century. Now a song like "Pizza Hut Taco Bell" or "Turn Down for What" are the number one hits from two artists whose talents eclipse the 10-word songs that made them famous, but nobody really cares about those songs.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-06-08

I couldn't make sense of that statement, but I just watched the video of "Turn Down For What"

And now I'm gonna watch it again!

To those who don't know, lots of full episodes of Mr. Show on youtube, Been falling asleep to Mr. Show a lot lately. My favorite Mr. Show musical parody is the jingoistic country singer who sings about blowing up the moon.

Hey mr monkey don't be askin' why, you know you can't mess with American Pride

Bisekrankas - 2014-06-08

Thats an interesting coincidence, I have also been falling asleep to mr show too for the last week (re-watching the dvds twice, with and without commentary)

zerobackup - 2014-06-08

Oh man, before bit-torrent came along I scrounged up every episode of Mr Show from KaZaa. I watched them repeat for 6 months...dammit YouTube here I come.

infinite zest - 2014-06-08

I remember when the only way you could get them was by renting the VHS, which were all free.. Problem was the honor system.

The Mothership - 2020-09-14

Goodbye, mailbox.

Sorrow is the key that gets our tears out of eye jail.

I never liked the Beach Boys. I almost said "The Beach Boys are overrated", but saying things are overrated is overrated.
