(it should be noted that during the whole legal bullshit kerfuffle that ensued after Negativland released this EP, Kasem was the only one who didn't sue or threaten to sue them.

What do you mean by mileage? They lost their record label, had to give up the masters to this EP, lost money out of the deal, ultimately could not tour that year as they intended, had to pay for lawyers (since SST were chickenshits). Yeah, boy..they sure got so much mileage out of it.
The vinyl for this is worth a fortune if you can find it.
I saw them give a lecture in Olympia, WA where they're headquartered. I don't think they're doing that badly, they continue making stuff and they are respected by the same people that like Devo. I think they're funny.

I meant in terms of album material, not financially. Negativland had to delineate their side of things through The Letter U and the Numeral 2 magazine/CD (which SST attempted to sue Negativland for), and the Fair Use book/CD. Eventually, things died down to the point where 2001's These Guys are From England and Who Gives a Shit? could exist as a "bootleg". I agree the Island/Warner-Chappell and SST legal problems were bullshit, but that frustration was the basis for some of the band's best work.
