Oscar Wildcat What fucking John fucking Galt here is not telling you is that to cut corners because he overextened himself buying land rights at the beginning of the boom, he's been pouring substandard well casings and not properly testing them. They crack, then the oil and gas seep out and contaminate the ground water.
Really. That's what's happening. And this guy is lobbying the government furiously to prevent even basic inspections of these casings before pumping begins. He knows what the problem is. But he'll not turn a profit if he has to do the job right. So we all have to pay the price.
If these sociopaths come to your town, yell long and hard at them about this specific issue. Don't let them distract you into some ideological argument. This is what they are so afraid of you knowing. How the groundwater contamination actually happens. And why it's happening.
BorrowedSolution "There's never been a recorded instance of groundwater contamination via methane! But if there IS it's one of those sites where indians totally used to go and hang out in ancient times!"
It's sad that he doesn't have to have anything approaching an argument for his rhetoric to be effective with pigfuckers.
