God doesn't play games? What does he call the story of Job?

il fiore bel - 2014-08-31

Shhh. We call that "answering a challenge."

infinite zest - 2014-08-31

Hahahahaha didn't Christians try to get into the graphic novel business for a while? Maybe they're still doing it. It's fuzzy memories but I remember infomercials with surprisingly well-illustrated Jesuses and Noahs and all the other bible friends from the 90s.

kingarthur - 2014-08-31

The Sons of Confederate Veterans got into the comics business for a bit and printed some bullshit story about black confederate soldiers proudly fighting for the south during the Civil War.

The barrier to entry for comic books is really really low is what i'm saying.

Xenocide - 2014-08-31

Google Truth For Youth comics for some delightfully awkward wannabe mangas about how condoms don't work and rock music makes you evil.

Don't miss the one where Jack and Rose from Titanic wash up alive on a desert island, where they learn a valuable lesson about abortion.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-09-01

Spire Comics are also hilarious. In addition to some Archie titles, they did "Hansi: The Girl Who Loved the Swastika."

the cheering marijuana smokers

Kid Fenris - 2014-08-31

They should just set up an exhibitor's booth with free Chick Tracts and other Christian comics! Nerds like comics!

I always see at least one booth like that at comic conventions, and the people running it are always very polite.

Whenever I've seen one of those at a comic con (at least at APE and ECCC) it's been someone who's been an avid collector of them, and not someone trying to spread the gospel.

Hugo Gorilla - 2014-08-31

Ha ha ha. They think the people at Comic Con actually read comics.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2014-08-31

This is a good strategy imo. That place is bound to contain many people who have become completely absorbed by poorly written and fantastic works of fiction. Sound familiar to anyone!?

memedumpster - 2014-08-31

This is where Christianity belongs, with the rest of the... just saw Purple Cat's post, never mind.

Xenocide - 2014-08-31

Dude, you really don't know your audience if you thinking standing in front of comic-con and calling the attendants nerds is going to upset anyone.

That's like if I stood outside your church in full Geordi La Forge cosplay yelling "EVERYONE HERE IS A CHRISTIAN! I DON'T SEE A SINGLE ZORASTRIAN OR SHINTOIST ANYWHERE! THIS IS A CHURCH FULL OF CHRISTIANS! WHY AREN'T YOU PEOPLE FURIOUS AT ME?"

blue vein steel - 2014-08-31

these are the best cos players there

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-09-01

Why?

Just cos.

countvelcro - 2014-09-01
