Hahahahaha didn't Christians try to get into the graphic novel business for a while? Maybe they're still doing it. It's fuzzy memories but I remember infomercials with surprisingly well-illustrated Jesuses and Noahs and all the other bible friends from the 90s.
The Sons of Confederate Veterans got into the comics business for a bit and printed some bullshit story about black confederate soldiers proudly fighting for the south during the Civil War.
The barrier to entry for comic books is really really low is what i'm saying.
Whenever I've seen one of those at a comic con (at least at APE and ECCC) it's been someone who's been an avid collector of them, and not someone trying to spread the gospel.
This is a good strategy imo. That place is bound to contain many people who have become completely absorbed by poorly written and fantastic works of fiction. Sound familiar to anyone!?
Dude, you really don't know your audience if you thinking standing in front of comic-con and calling the attendants nerds is going to upset anyone.
That's like if I stood outside your church in full Geordi La Forge cosplay yelling "EVERYONE HERE IS A CHRISTIAN! I DON'T SEE A SINGLE ZORASTRIAN OR SHINTOIST ANYWHERE! THIS IS A CHURCH FULL OF CHRISTIANS! WHY AREN'T YOU PEOPLE FURIOUS AT ME?"
