You're right Baleen. She so desperately wants to be one of those YouTube "Gurus". The fact that she's 28 years old doesn't help. If she was actually a teenager or a 12 year old then I wouldn't really bat an eye because that's what kids do.

I know people like that - they want to be e-famous and they haven't clued in that their friends with large numbers of followings are all younger, skinny and conventionally attractive, and sometimes even genuinely talented, and they're constantly doing stuff like this, always mystified/bitter why they don't get the same following.

I like this a lot better than any of the high-budget makeup guru things I've seen! She seems nice, but also sad.

I think a lot of it has to do with how difficult it is to tell sincerity from bullshit irony these days since irony is last, stale thing left to pretty much all online culture now. I'd make fun of her if I thought she was being serious, but who knows anymore? Is she just making "ironically" bad YT make up videos knowing that they are awful as a meta thing, or is she really doing it because she's unaware they're bad?
