For me Bond films were always about exotic locations before stupid gadgets, hideouts, or women in bikinis. So Live and Let Die was pretty disappointing there. Best Bond villain death in the series though.

In that case, you must have loved Moonraker, because there's nowhere more exotic than Outer Space.

I am so torn about that. On the one hand, Moonraker is ambitious and glorious, but on the other, Die Another Day has tighter special effects and cinematrography, so sometimes Moonraker seems a bit cardboard-y. I guess I'll just stick with Octopussy as the best one until I sort this out for myself.

I pretty much liked them up all until Casino Royale. And I'm all for "gritty/realistic" reboots. Leger's Joker is by far my favorite (sorry Hamill, you're a close second) and Ang Lee's Hulk is still my favorite superhero movie (never says "HULK SMASH") but Bond didn't need that sort of realism. He's James-Fucking-Bond for crying out loud. I'd actually like to see a return to the campiness that made the old ones so much fun, as absurd as they got even post-Goldeneye. Then again, feel free to debate this, as I haven't seen the other Daniel Craig ones, but frankly don't care to as they seem like every other action movie out there.

IZ, how do you not like the Woody Allen Bond!? Next you'll be telling me that Operation Double 007 isn't the best spy movie ever!

My favorite reBond is Quantum of Solace, because it has the girlfriend from hell and a zillion vehicle chases.

I really don't like Roger Moore, which is too bad because the Moore bond films had some of the best villians.

There is no movie that the phrase "less than the sum of its parts" applies to more than the 1967 Casino Royale.

I watched casino royale (the old one) for the first time this year. It is a fun idea, but a total mess in practice. It would have been way better if they had omitted Peter Sellers altogether. Keep in mind I watched it hoping for a Peter Sellers bond spoof.

I like Quantum of Solace because it sounds like the title of a Castlevania game.
