The studio version of the movie isn't bad (it's easily the best film run on MST3K), but it really loses something without this finale.
I wonder if this ending will ever be released on DVD. I'd give to a Kickstarter for it.

It's closer to the ending of the book, which goes balls-deep into beautiful insanity over the final five or six pages.
