i liked kilborn more than stewart too, but i think a lot of that has to do with stewart's delivery, which was always just a touch too giggly.

I just liked the Luddite approach that Craig had when it was anything more important than.. I dunno whichever celebrities were big in the late 90s. In a way it reminds me of The Weekly Wipe's Philomena Cunk, or in a way Stephen Colbert. Of course that wouldn't transfer to a late night talk show very successfully for Craiggers.. hopefully it will for Colbert!

As for Jon, I really hope he goes into politics like Al Franken (or you know, the others.. I don't think I need to name names.) I was genuinely pissed when I found out that the Rally to Restore Sanity/Fear was just a joke; I would've voted on that ticket over Obama/Biden.

My thoughts exactly. Speaking of Rosewater, I really wanted to see it but I don't think I ever saw it in theatres, and I don't necessarily live in the middle of nowhere. I used to live with someone who writes (or at least I think still writes) for the Daily Show and it's gotta be tough to come up with jokes for a live studio audience when, I dunno, the day's top story was the burning alive of a Jordanian pilot by the hands of Isis. And as much as I like the Nightly show, I've noticed on several occasions that Larry Wilmore's show is criticized in the roundtable segment because they're having a serious debate on a "comedy show." That's gotta get annoying. Like, sure, it's more casual and fun, and yeah, South Park will be on soon in case your remote's broken.. it's like if I pitched my stuff to Adult Swim and took out all the surreal stuff, it's pretty goddamn depressing and that's not their demographic. And anyone who saw Rosewater assuming it was going to be funny (or Tim Heidecker's The Comedy for that matter) doesn't know the definition of pigeonholing. And this is just me as an outsider who sometimes catches clips of TDS when they're posted on here. Can't imagine what it's like to be the voice of something serious that's taken as a joke.

Haha.. that happened to me with Frank Black. Like, I'm assuming most people here knows what he looks like, or at least The Pixies, but I was sitting right next to him at a bar and was still like "is that Frank Black?" We were both on what I'm assuming were dates so we kept to ourselves, but he knew that I knew.. I should have talked to him too, but if it was a few years later, I would've had less than kind words. I mean seriously, that new album? Pooop on a stick.

Don't get me started on that!!! I listened to it once so far, and that was like 5 months ago. It took determination to make it to the end, and I didn't even have big expectations to begin with, given how this album took them more than 10 years to arrive (after they regrouped that is), not to mention NO MORE KIM DEAL!!!
