I never knew him and probably never will, seeing as he's dead and all, but he seems like a nice guy, based on all the videos I've seen.

Play the damn thing!!

I always envisioned Moog as being some Swedish mystical hippy type guy. The real Moog seems pretty cool and down to earth, he seems like a true audio-nerd.

I never met him or anything but everything I've heard about him makes him sound like a pretty solid dude.

Other than that business of probably stealing the concept for his first sequencer (which was, I believe, the first sequencer brought to market) from Raymond Scott back in the 60s. Nobody knows for sure, but Scott had invented and built a sequencer way back in, I believe, the mid 50s but he was utterly paranoid about people stealing his ideas and rarely let people actually see the instruments he was using. He made an exception for Moog and not too long after Moog introduced a sequencer.

OTOH, Raymond Scott never would have shared anything with anyone so it's more like Moog liberated the idea than stole it.
