Yeah really.. somebody was defending the use of cellphones at concerts saying how cool it would've been if people had them at Woodstock 1.. and conversely, an act of violence like Afroman's at some random club would've probably gone undocumented and devolve into a he said/she said: A vicious punch in the face could easily become something less severe, or nothing at all like she just fell and was drunk.
