there are a ton of really neat appearances throughout the show's run, but i found it pretty dull trying to marathon it back when the dvd set first came out.
maybe i'm just allergic to shelly duvall (she creeps me the fuck out idk)
pinocchio and the nightingale are the two i'd recommend (first for the guests, second for the "holy shit" factor) if you dont want to crawl through a bunch of episodes looking for gold

Awesome. I'm the opposite of Ugh.. I think Shelly Duvall's like the hottest babe in the world during this time. I remember loving this show as a kid and found a VHS of the Rumpelstiltskin episode a few years ago, but haven't seen the others since I was a kid.
Is this the series that had Christopher Walken as Puss in Boots, or was that something else altogether?
NM, I looked it up.
It was its own movie.
Oh.. it was THAT one. I used to love the old anime Puss in Boots films when I was a little kid. And just a couple of weeks ago I discovered that they were Hayao Miyazaki's earliest projects. No wonder I liked Miyazaki (or "like," if he un-quits, makes another film and quits again). Haven't seen the Walken one but at least it's a real cat!
But looking down the imdb for FTF, it's like "holy shit!" Timothy Dalton, Harry Dean Stanton, Christopher Lee, Frank Zappa? Fucking Klaus Kinski? And more future academy award winners than I feel like typing out. None of these names or faces meant anything to me when I was a kid. I mean, it's not like in 30 years we'll be looking back at Madagascar 2 remembering Ben Stiller before he won Best Director AND Actor in the same year and saying "wow.. remember how great the actors were in that movie," but still.
I really like to rip on Madagascar 2 even though I've never seen it :)
Love this show.

I gave this series on DVD to my niece one Christmas. I wanted her to watch a kids show that was actually not shitty or Minecraft related.
Rodents of Unusual Size
This was a favorite, along with James Earl Jones as the genie from Aladdin, which is still the best version of Aladdin I've ever seen.
What I wouldn't have given to have thought about that when I was still an uncle.. I mean, he might have been a little young (4) at the time, but if I ever have to see the Bee Movie and Madagascar ever again..
The Pied Piper of Hamelin with a gaunt, sickly looking Eric Idle as the lead is my absolute favorite. Bomb as fuck. Grew up with these.
