I am studying Portuguese and this is definitely a helpful study tool. Thanks!

I am LOVING the new COMMUNITY, even though I can't get it on my computer, and it buffers every 12 seconds on my phone.

EvilHomer - 2015-03-23

Hey John, dumb question, but... what color was Guinevere? Those pictures you posted on Twitter were pretty lo-res; I couldn't tell if she was white or light tan or had a dark stripe down the middle of the face or a big dark patch across the entire upper right portion.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-03-23

Okay, well first thing, her name was always "Little Guinevere" She was named after Guinevere, who died in 2001.

This is a picture of a Birman, who looks like a lot like both Guineveres, but Little G also had an asymmetrical patch of tortoise shell on her face..

New "Community" isn't bad. I'm glad Shirley's out, but only because the only time she wasn't unpleasant was when Dan Harmon was out of the show; he really had no idea what to do with her but make her a religious hypocrite. Dan saw to it by the end of the first season that Jeff was mostly redeemed, you'd think he could give Shirley a little bit of character growth too. (Two sentences are all I'd ask: "If I've got room for you in my heart I suppose Jesus does too", followed by a surly "Still couldn't hurt your chances if you went to church once in a while". And with that, Shirley's repaired.)

You say you've got cat pictures?

infinite zest - 2015-03-23

Aww.. looks kinda like my cat.

That's not him but it might as well be, although my Blackberry is more handsome. He's got some ragdoll in him too which is great for everything except for walks.

As for this video, I don't actively watch Community but this is about as perfect a parody of Bollywood (or X-wood) rip offs as I'll ever see. Also, Danielo Jarmon.

infinite zest - 2015-03-23

Question about the show now that it's not on a Network network: have they eased up on the swearing and other censorship things? Like I said I haven't watched the show, and it's not like I have to hear a million "fucks" for a show to be good, but I have argued that if Silicon Valley were on ABC CBS or NBC it would basically be Big Bang Theory, and Girls would be Friends, etc.

OMG the season finale of Girls, you Guys.. WATERFALLS!

Bort - 2015-03-23

It's still primetime-acceptable TV, which I am fine with. "Rome" wasn't a great show because of the swearing and the nudity, it was because of the characters and seeing an ancient way of life that served an ethos both similar to and different from ours. Which involved boobs.

fluffy - 2015-03-23

I couldn't get into the new stuff, but I gave up halfway through the season premiere. It felt like they were out of ideas and were just being meta about that, and back on the "gas leak" season trajectory.

Does it get better and should I give it a chance, possibly by just skipping to the second episode?

infinite zest - 2015-03-23

Rome swore? Like Fuck and stuff? I understand translating a word into English but that word didn't exist back then, in either form (sexual or insult). Unless there's something I don't know.

Bort - 2015-03-24

Well, I don't recall them using the word "stuff" at any point, but yeah.

I don't miss Shirley, but I miss Yvette Nicole Brown. It was nice to get a look at Shirley's "spinoff" at the end of episode 1. She's looking good, by the way, I think she lost a few pounds.

I wonder how much of Abed's character was planned from the beginning. I'm talking about the tendency see life as a TV show that's become central to the show's postmodern character. I don't remember it coming up in the pilot. When Danny Pudi leaves the show, they're fucked.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-03-23

Damn it.

spikestoyiu - 2015-03-23

This was the best part of a pretty great episode (even though it was Britta-centric and Britta is The Worst). I have a soft spot for all of the Gremlins rip-offs of the mid-80s.

BHWW - 2015-03-23

This was one of my favorite parts as well, along with the Dean's interactions with the "cutting edge" VR rig he buys, complete with the ridiculously complicated maneuvers needed to complete even the simplest tasks in it.

"The time is now... 2:39!"
"That was the time. Twenty minutes ago, when you started."

spikestoyiu - 2015-03-23

The running... which was just him wearing socks on a slick surface. It was excellent.

spikestoyiu - 2015-03-23

Oh, and drowning files to delete them.

Bort - 2017-10-11

Britta is the best. I wish more Lefties were like her, because for all her ideas of how other people should be, she tries to hold HERSELF to those standards first and foremost. Most Lefties (in real life and on the show) are fake as fuck, but Britta's sincere, and her sincerity more than makes up for how tiresome her activist knee-jerkitude gets.

yogarfield - 2015-03-23

I only watched bits and pieces of Community, but watched the episodes in the hopper. One question: when did Joel McHale sprout tits?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-03-23

That's so very real! I remember when Second Life first became a thing, and I got into arguments with people who couldn't be talked out of the conviction that the internet was about to become one big video game. They just couldn't grasp how much of a pain in the ass it would be to drag an avatar through a virtual department store everytime you wanted to buy a DVD from Amazon.

I like Frankie a lot. Not only does she bring a fresh, sane dynamic, she's great at looking horrified at the Dean's monkeyshines.

fluffy - 2015-03-23

Someday you will learn how to click on that "reply" button. Someday, JHM.

Bort - 2017-10-11

Frankie is a great straight man for everyone else to play against. I like that she's clever enough that she can manipulate Abed into constructive behavior, but at the same time she can be manipulated by Jeff and others. Plus, the world would be a poorer place without her steel drum artistry.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-03-23

Of course, I know how the button works. The problem is that I take so long to post that I forget what button I pushed, and now that I'm using a phone, it hasn't made me any faster.
