You're not making Christianity better, you're making ICP worse.

SolRo - 2015-05-27

Great idea! Let's combine two really annoying crazy cults!

infinite zest - 2015-05-29

Didn't Shaggy and VJ come out as Evangelical Christians a few years ago?

infinite zest - 2015-05-28

Middle guy looks like he belongs at Burning Man or Sasquatch or Pitchfork. What's going on with the GoTJ this year? Usually they've got the infomercial out by now and the lineup released, but this year's is full of "check back soon"s and no comedians have been announced yet, and no bands that non-juggalos like myself might have heard of, like Three Six Mafia, etc. It's almost June!

EvilHomer - 2015-05-28

Guy is appropriate, as GoTJ is sort of the working class version of Burning Man. As for the lineup, apparently it's posted at

http://www.juggalogathering.com/

No comedians, but a lot of bands announced. Puddle of Mudd is going to be there (facepalm), and you've probably heard of Twiztid, Mushroomhead, and Waka Flocka Flame. TECH N9NE is going to be there, too, but that's only to be expected, as ICP wishes they were Tech and cannot stop dickriding him. Give it a rest, you clowns!

I am perversely interested in seeing what happens to Puddle of Mudd if they actually show their faces.

Prickly Pete - 2015-05-28

As it happens, just yesterday they tweeted that the new infomercial is coming soon. So look out for that. I'm sure it will promptly be posted here as soon as it comes out.

infinite zest - 2015-05-28

oh OK I've heard of Puddle of Mudd and Wacka Flocka Flame.. the website was sort of crashing my browser but I sort of assumed at the bigger non-Juggalo acts would've been on/near the top. Also they're talking about being judgmental, and I made that judgement call based on how I perceive most (if not all) Juggalos' styles: clean shaven and short hair, or if they have long hair it's braided, and if they have a beard they're usually the Santa Claus size Juggalos. I mean, it's cool that they festival's about acceptance, but having a certain style that fits is pretty important, like that episode of True Detective where Hart wears the Red Hot Chili Peppers shirt trying to fit in at the Bayou club, or just dressing like a mod at a Dropkick Murphy show, etc. etc.

EvilHomer - 2015-05-28

Yeah, I was gonna say, WTF is up with their website? Talk about horrible fucking web design. Even with NoScript on it's wrecking my browser; I think maybe it's because they're trying to force preload about thirty Youtube videos all at once.

It's worse than Amazon. I mean granted, they ARE clowns, but I expected better nevertheless.

EvilHomer - 2015-05-28

(Mushroomhead was one of those generic shitty numetal bands from the early 2000s, basically the early millennial Ratt, while Twiztid is best known for being both a completely indistinguishable ripoff of the ICP, as well as the only band on Psychopathic Records that anyone actually cares about. I remember a few years back Twiztid went through a rebellious teenager faze, decided they'd had enough, and told ICP to go fuck themselves, but evidently now they are back on speaking terms with their Family? I don't know. I'm sure Prickly Pete could explain what's happened to Twiztid since they moved out of ICP's basement.)

I'd like to find a good music festival this summer.. Closest I ever found to something that's for me is Smmr Bmmr, but it's the same bands every year.. I mean I guess it's kinda the same with GoTJ. A 2 day wristband is 12 bucks but it moved to a venue I don't like. Much like faygo, noise punk kids have their own signature drink at the festival: vodka and orange Emergen-C!

Old_Zircon - 2015-05-28

I've never been but a ton of people I know absolutely swear by Maryland Deathfest.

But it was last week.

infinite zest - 2015-05-29

That looks like fun. The bar I like to play pinball at always plays metal out of the kitchen, which drowns out the Father John Misty or whatever all the time. If nothing else it's a fun musical war. Last fun multi venue fest I went to was the vice records one, which was sponsored by scion.. It was like being in a commercial but it was free as long as you rsvp'd your wrist bands, and I got to see The a Intelligence, my favorite band ever, and Roky Erikson and the gories until I blacked out. I don't know if Portland does crosstown fests like that anymore. Last year "Music Fest NW" was like, 5 bands nobody gives a fuck about vs past years where it was hundreds of bands nobody gives a fuck about.

Why's Mobb Deep there?

infinite zest - 2015-05-29

I mean, Mobb Deep can do whatever the fuck they want, but it's kinda like animal collection playing at GoTJ..

Prickly Pete - 2015-05-29

Oh geez Homer, don't get me started on the Twiztid situation. Long story short: ICP and Twiztid are fine. They've always been fine. People desperately try to find a rift that isn't there no matter how many dozens of times each side comes out and says they're fine. They've made albums together since then. But Twiztid now has their own label.

EvilHomer - 2015-05-29

They SAY they're fine, because both bands are scaredy-cat bitches, and they each know the other side knows where they live. But if Twiztid and ICP were really "fine", then Twiztid wouldn't have broken their contract and tried to start a rival record label!!!

yogarfield - 2015-05-28

rip the plastic bottles being slowly choked to death

chumbucket - 2015-05-28

Dude spends all kinds of time asking questions just to lead up to him lecturing his personal redemption story. I never understand how that's supposed to turn people to jeebus.
