I only saw one episode. I wasn't impressed. Just an Adventure Time wannabe.

It's not nearly as full of itself as Adventure Time, which is why I like it more.

It's made by some lady who got fired from Adventure Time though, right? And as Gmork said, it's derivative; all the characters and situations which weren't stolen from Adventure Time were stolen from someplace else. I haven't watched but three minutes of SU, and even so, the Alex Kidd knockoff is unmistakeable.

At least Adventure Time, for all it's faults, was original and imaginative. Steven Universe is just a cheap wannabe; the Goldberg to Stone Cold, the Pound Puppies to MLP.

Adventure Time is a D&D campaign that went on long enough for its original DM to quit, and the party got too big for a tightly focused adventure, so the players all sit around giggling and letting their characters bounce off each other until they think of a cool way to end the campaign.

Steven Universe is basically a 1990s anime for the 21st century. I'll let others decide if it's a pre- or post-Eva series.

People work on all kinds of cartoons, its how the industry works. Lauren Faust worked on Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, so by your logic MLP is a ripoff of that.
