So true. Also this show rocks. Homer WATCH IT!!!!!!!!
EvilHomer - 2015-06-20 Sorry Cena, I'm not a 10 year old boy.
Cena_mark - 2015-06-20 You're also not a 4 year old girl, but you watch MLP:FIM.
EvilHomer - 2015-06-20 That's different. MLP is a show for all ages; the franchise was designed for 4 year old girls, but the show is appropriate for everyone, men or women, nerd or jock, military or hippie, aspie or high functioning autistic. In fact, you saw the 100th episode, so you should know that the primary target demographic nowadays is male fans in their twenties to mid-thirties!
Steven Broniverse, however, is meant for ten year old boys and thirty year old hipsters with an A-log complex. That's it. I am neither, ergo I'm too cool for this show.
infinite zest - 2015-06-21 EH IF YOU WATCH THE SHOW THEN I WILL WATCH ALL THE MLP
Cena_mark - 2015-06-21 Only Steven came from Rose. Garnet and alPearl were here compatriots and Amethyst was picked up from the kindergarten.

namtar - 2015-06-20
I like this show a lot, but it seems like the last string of episodes have developed the same problem Adventure Time did in that it's way too obsessed over its own mythology.
Instead of a fun show that hinted about mature themes, every episode is Pearl crying over her unrequited lost love.
Cena_mark - 2015-06-20 Pearl is always crying and freaking out about something. Its what she does.
EvilHomer - 2015-06-20 So she's like a spineless, weak-ass version of Rarity?
EvilHomer - 2015-06-20 Which character is most like Maud Pie? Not that I will ever watch the show, but, you know, just in case I catch a glimpse of it one day, I'd like to know whom to mark for.
Cena_mark - 2015-06-20 Pearl isn't spineless. She's a great fighter, brave, and very intelligent. She just freaks out a lot. Garnet is a lot like Maud. She doesn't speak much or show much emotion and she can punch things really hard.
This video will show you.

EvilHomer - 2015-06-20 Maud talks a lot, and she only punches things when she has to, to protect her sister or her sister's friends. That Garnet character seems more like Applejack.
namtar - 2015-06-20 Seriously guys, do you have to talk about MLP on every fucking video?
EvilHomer - 2015-06-20 Only when the video is about a cartoon for little kids.
EvilHomer - 2015-06-20 OK, fine. Since NAMTAR wants to be a whinger, let me ask you this instead, Cena:
Are there any characters on this show like CM Punk? How about like The Undertaker?
Cena_mark - 2015-06-21 Wrestlers are too complex to be compared to cartoon characters, but in the case of CM Chump I'd say he's a lot like Peridot, but you wouldn't know about that because Peridot isn't one of the main gems.
I agree with Sanest. I caught up with the episodes and I certainly like the way they're going.
infinite zest - 2015-06-21 Speaking of, Pearl's always crying because the Jems are just manifestations of Steven's mom, who got ripped open when giving birth to Steven. There might be more backstory given at times, but they're pretty much 3 Campbellian archetypes (or 3 and a half depending on how much you've seen) that represent his own momma/. So that's what Pearl does.
Cena_mark - 2015-06-21 The gems are not part of Steven's mom. They existed long before Steven was born.
BHWW - 2015-06-21 the only proper reaction when the like of Evil Homer and the PoETV MLP Crew feel the need to bring up MLP in the comments of a video that may or may not have anything to do with cartoon ponies:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z36Xadupn5c
Cena_mark - 2015-06-21 It was relevant here. Homer hates Steven Universe, because he feels its a threat to MLP's position as #1 cartoon. You can love them both, I do.
infinite zest - 2015-06-21 Cena you're right, but I like to think it's a coping strategy for Steven, just like Rick, Morty's grandpa died. So all those adventures and stuff is just in a kid's head like Calivin and Hobbes trying to cope with the fact that reality just fucking sucks a lot of the time. I'm fun at parties.
