These are both for you for saying that, and for me for knowing what you were referring to.

These stars are for the description.

This sort of happened to me when I was trying to get divorced. Louisiana is under Napoleonic Law so I'm kinda married for the rest of my life. :(

infinite zest - 2015-06-27

So deal with it gals or just get the fuck out of texas. What are you doing in texas anyway? Come to Oregon. We need more people up here.

Hooker - 2015-06-27

Oh. Four-eyes is marrying up, huh?

That guy - 2015-07-02

At least one of them has good taste in women.

.....it's all about looks for lesbians, right?

kingarthur - 2015-06-28

Same thing is going on in Louisiana and Mississippi. Mississippi is talking about suspending issuing marriage licenses for anyone period. There's talk of organizing marches and sit ins starting on Monday.

Louisiana and Mississippi sound like a curmudgeoned separated guy like myself: NO MARRIAGE FOR ANYONE EVER! IT SUCKS AND "DEATH DO US PART" JUST MAKES IT A CONTEST TO SEE WHO DIES FIRST blah blah blah.. I've known a lot of cool people from Louisiana, but that's pretty much just NOLA. I sort of figure it's like Oregon. Get a little out of Portland and you're faced with a kind of intolerance that's unmatched by any other place I've ever lived.

I'm in Denton, most of us were pretty ashamed. It's a progressive city in a large rural county with dumber than average local goverment officials.

Initially they claimed it was a software/form issue and now the the Texas AG has told the county clerks that they are allowed to exercise their relgious beliefs and refuse to issue certificates if they desire, but that they would be responsible for any legal fees from any resulting lawsuits. Today the first same sex marriage certificates were issued.

That guy - 2015-07-02

um.... on the legal side, I wonder if the supreme court ruling immediately invalidates state law, or if it's more complicated than that??

poetv resident legal expert, where are you?
