Fuck, that was brutal.

I used to think people who want exotic pets are just pretentious douchebags with more money than sense. This pushes them way up the evilometer.

infinite zest - 2015-07-05

Jeepers Creepers Binro..

infinite zest - 2015-07-05

In case you didn't get my reference,

https://youtu.be/FGAAYLCFdBg

but it leaves out the Jeepers Creepers part.

I've known about a lot of these issues for a while and it still disturbs me that people think slow loris videos are adorable things to share. I'm glad to see anything that generates any more visibility.

I like how the top related is a Boxxy video.

TheOtherCapnS - 2015-07-05

For the rest of us, no it isn't. You do know about YT's algorithms, right? But anyways, if you and JHMF aren't the same person, you've got something new to talk about.

If you guys could keep it to one video, I would appreciate it. My mouse scroll wheel is starting to get a little worn out.

ashtar. - 2015-07-05

Boxxy also has venom glands in her elbows.

EvilHomer - 2015-07-06

Actually, OtherCapnS, I suspect that for most of you it is. I know a little bit about YT algorithms; I know, for example, that the videos YT tries to recommend are not based solely on your own viewing habits. They are also based on the viewing habits of other users (so-called "trending" videos) as well as, in some instances, which YT content providers are willing to pay Google for additional promotion - I have never watched a single Jimmy Kimmel Live video in my life, yet his channel is always being "recommend" to me as the best thing for my interests. Finally, the YT algorithms also take into account *the video you are watching now* - it is considered to be the thing most relevant to your interests, and the bulk of your related videos will be pulled up based on whatever content you are already watching.

The Boxxy video I am referring to is produced by the channel "Animalist", under the title "The Most Adorable Poisonous Animal" ( https://youtu.be/aOmBRBXXLcE ). Just to make sure my initial result was not a fluke, I double-checked this entry on five separate devices: one of which is public and never used by me, two of which I can confirm have never been used to stream a Boxxy video (Animalist or otherwise), and furthermore, one of these two Boxxyless devices is actually brand new and socially "virgin", having never been used to sign in to an email account which might otherwise skew the results. Boxxy's Animalist video appeared on all five devices, albeit at a slightly different position each time (it was typically between six to nine videos down on the list). Weirdly, my primary device - my livingroom desktop PC - recommended the Animalist video *least* strongly, despite the fact that this was the device (running the Google accounts!) which I've used to watch Boxxy's pony videos in the past!

Maybe it doesn't show up for you, I don't know, but I suspect for most of us it does.

Ashtar - she might! You can never be too sure.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2015-07-05

I've never even heard of this animal, or of people having them as pets, nor have I see any of these videos they're talking about.

It does sound like the typical PETA-grade (and yes I know this isn't PETA) blowing cruelty claims way out of proportion bullshit though.

The one thing that I can't get past is the teeth cutting bit. That's undeniably awful.

But to answer your question Mr "actor" no, I wouldn't stop watching a video I like or think it's cute just because of claimed cruelty behind if that is, in your twisted world view, not being involved in the prevention = being the cause of.

Sorry, but just because I don't plant my ass in the path of the bulldozer doesn't mean I helped cut the trees down.

EvilHomer - 2015-07-05

YOU ARE LITERALLY HITLER.

Redford - 2015-07-05

Regardless, it is probably best to do as they ask and not popularize people who make videos of Slow Lorises.

bopeton - 2015-07-05

I'm sorry, discount Sean Connery. I will never buy a slow loris.

TheSupafly - 2015-07-05

Didn't really give any evidence that tickling actually is torture, and as the rest of the shit is what I have heard a lot of already I am thinking they tacked that on to be dicks.

Spit Spingola - 2015-07-05

Video equivalent of a punch to the kidney.

Killer Joe - 2015-07-06

Gave up at the teeth.

I thought this was going to be a parody of a depressing animal abuse video. :(
